Strengthening collaboration across Finnish CoroPrevention sites

Finnish CoroPrevention study teams met in Tampere to review progress and exchange updates. The meeting strengthened collaboration in cardiovascular prevention research.

On 15 June, the CoroPrevention study teams from Helsinki University Hospital (HUS), Tampere University, Oulu University Hospital, and Turku University Central Hospital came together in Tampere for a dedicated site meeting, bringing together clinical and research expertise from across Finland. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity for investigators, study coordinators, and research staff to review progress, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration across participating centres.

Throughout the meeting, participants discussed the overall status of the study and exchanged updates on activities at each site. Key topics included patient enrolment, endpoint collection, data quality, and day-to-day operational considerations. The teams also addressed ongoing challenges and explored practical solutions to support efficient study conduct and ensure consistency across all centres. These discussions highlighted the importance of close communication and shared learning in the successful implementation of a multicentre clinical study.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to align future priorities and discuss strategies for maintaining momentum as recruitment and follow-up activities continue. By sharing best practices and lessons learned, the participating sites were able to build on one another’s experiences and further strengthen the collaborative framework that underpins the CoroPrevention study.

Beyond the formal programme, the gathering helped foster stronger connections among team members. Informal discussions at the Pyynikki Summer Theatre provided an opportunity to continue exchanging ideas and experiences in a relaxed setting, reinforcing the strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose across the consortium.

Meetings such as this demonstrate the value of close collaboration between academic and clinical partners and the collective commitment of the CoroPrevention teams to advancing cardiovascular prevention through high-quality, evidence-based research. By working together across institutions and regions, the Finnish study sites continue to contribute to the successful progress of the trial and to the generation of knowledge that may help improve cardiovascular health outcomes in the future.
